Scouts Earn Cycling Merit Badge

Over the long weekend, Troop 238 embarked on its biyearly cycling adventure on the Withlacoochee bike trail. After a four hour drive, the scouts started at the south end of the trail and made their way to Floral City, FL where they enjoyed strawberry milkshakes at Ferris Groves. The next day, they started at Floral City, FL and went to the end of the trail which is in Dunnellon, FL. When they reached the end, they turned around and cycled back to Floral City, FL for celebratory strawberry pies from Ferris Groves. We are proud to say that every scout completed the trail and there were no flat tires or breakdowns along the way. Over the two days, the scouts completed 75 miles. The weather was on the cool side with the high for both days being 60 and the low was 35 at night. Perfect for tent camping.
